Volleyball Team Takes Down Palomar in Four

The MSJC women's volleyball team split the first two sets on Friday night at Palomar, but then rallied to win the next two on their way to a PCAC North Division win in San Marcos.taoeteforpal1-16.jpg

The Lady Eagles won the first set 25-18, before the Comets were able to even the match by winning the second 19-25.  MSJC would go on to win the third set 25-20 and the fourth 25-23 to move to 2-1 in the conference standings.

Dayanerrah Taoete had a big night for the Lady Eagles as she recorded a team best 11 kills and also picked up 22 digs.  Lauren Robertson added 10 kills for the MSJC offense and setters Hannah Schaffer and Camryn Bootsma combined to dish out 36 assists.  Natalie Gonzales had a team high 25 digs on defense while Alexxis Carrillo had 1 solo block and 5 block assists.

The win makes the Lady Eagles record 12-6 overall on the season.  Their 2-1 mark in the conference leaves them currently one game behind first place Mira Costa.  MSJC will be back in action on Friday October 21st when they host College of the Desert.  Friday's match on the San Jacinto Campus is scheduled for 5 PM.
