Basketball and Volleyball Sisters Headed to Oklahoma

Ashley and Leslie Jenkins both earned First Team All Foothill Conference honors in their respective sports this past year for MSJC and now they have both received scholarships to the same four year school.  Thleslieandashley.jpge Jenkins sisters have both signed on to continue their careers at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.lesliesigns.jpg

Ashley was a two year starter on the women's basketball team earning First Team All Conference honors this past year while helping the Lady Eagles to a 23-8 record and a trip to the Southern California Regional Semi-Finals.  Ashley averaged 9.9 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per contest.  She scored in double figures 15 times in her sophomore year and had a career high 21 points against Imperial Valley College in December.  At Bacone Ashley will be rejoined with former MSJC point guard Danielle Reed who played at this school this year after her all conference career for the Lady Eagles.  Also joining Ashley at Bacone will be a teammate from this year's team Marina Villarreal.  Villarreal, a three point sharp shooter from San Jacinto High School, has also signed a scholarship with the Warriors.ashsigns.jpg

Leslie Jenkins was a two year starter on the volleyball team at MSJC and was also a First Team All Conference selection this year.  Leslie led the Lady Eagles in kills for the season with 273 she also was second in blocks with 32 and third in digs with 202.  As a freshman Leslie played both volleyball and basketball at MSJC, but focused on volleyball her sophomore season. 

Both Ashley and Leslie are from Temescal Canyon High School and both are graduating tonight.


Ashley and Leslie Jenkins are both headed to Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma next year.  Ashley has signed a basketball scholarship while Leslie signed a volleyball scholarship.
