academic year.

Marissa Williams (Lakeside HS), Geneza Rose Manlulu (Chaparral HS), and Tyra Fai'malo (Redlands East Valley HS) have all signed scholarships to continue their careers at Cal State Maritime Academy while Octavia Williams (Murrieta Mesa HS) will move on to La Sierra University.

Cal Maritime, located in Vallejo, is an NAIA school that plays in the California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac).  La Sierra University in Riverside is also a member of the NAIA and the Cal Pac.

Marissa Williams started in 43 of MSJC's 65 games during her two year career for the Lady Eagles.  As a freshman she earned Honorable Mention All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference honors and finished the season shooting 40% from the three point line.  Marissa shook off some late season injuries during her sophomore year to average 3.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

Fai'malo played in 29 of MSJC's games as a sophomore and was a force on the inside pulling down nearly three rebounds a game despite limited playing time as she shared her position with the CCCAA State Player of the Year, Britney Thomas.  Manlulu played valuable minutes during the Lady Eagles conference and State title season as the team's back up point guard.  Manlulu who also played very strong defense finished her sophomore campaign with a 2.4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio amongst the leaders on the team.  Octavia Williams only played one season for MSJC, but she made it count in her first season of college basketball.  Octavia's minutes increased as the season went on and she ended up averaging 20 minutes a game in the CCCAA State Elite Eight.

These four women's basketball student athletes make it a program record nine players from the same team to all earn a scholarship in the same year.  The Lady Eagles class of 2018 had a two year record of 58-7 and won the school's first ever team State Title in March.  Marissa Williams, Octavia Williams, Manlulu, and Fai'malo join teammates; Britney Thomas (Cal Baptist), Delacy Brown (Cal Baptist), Kaila Gower (Cal State San Marcos), Madeline Morrow (Northeastern State OK), and Carla Johnson (Rust College) as members of the 2017-18 to sign scholarships this year.
