Lady Eagles Bounce Back With Easy Road Win
The MSJC women's basketball team got off to a strong start on Wednesday night and pulled away as they picked up a road win in Oceanside 105-58 over Mira Costa.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to leads of 31-13 after the first quarter and 66-30 at halftime on their way to victory. Randi Johnson had a monster night for MSJC as she scored a career high 32 points, including 28 in the first half on 12 of 13 shooting. Johnson finished the night 14 of 18 from the field and a perfect 4 for 4 from behind the three point arc. To top it off Johnson also pulled down 10 rebounds to give her one of the Lady Eagles three double doubles on the night. Delacy Brown also had a double double with 24 points and 10 assists, as did Nokomis Cabrera who scored 17 points and hauled in a game high 11 rebounds. Crystal Malveaux came up just short of her double double with 8 points and 10 rebounds, she also had 5 assists.
The win got the Lady Eagles back on the winning track after a tough two point loss on Friday night to Palomar. MSJC is now 22-4 overall on the season and 4-2 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play.
MSJC will be back in action on Friday when they host College of the Desert at 5 pm.
