Lady Eagles Come Back for Home Win Over AVC
The MSJC women's basketball team came back from a 12 point deficit in the second half on Saturday to beat visiting Antelope Valley College 50-47.
The Lady Eagles had a tough afternoon shooting the ball, but found a way to win the game in the second half. MSJC trailed 38-26 with 14 minutes to go in the game before out scoring the Marauders 24-9 the rest of the way. Three Lady Eagles finished the day in double figures led by Destiny Melton's 19 points. Tina Fantroy and Kerah Natividad had 11 points each in the victory. Melton and Natividad both had double doubles as they each also pulled in 10 rebounds a piece. Fantroy finished with a game high 8 assists.
The win improved the Lady Eagles record to 17-2 on the season and 4-1 in Foothill Conference play while Antelope Valley fell to 8-13 and 3-3 in conference action. MSJC will be right back in action tonight January 28th when they host Cerro Coso College in a 5 pm contest. Tonight's game is a make up game that was originally scheduled for January 5th.
