Lady Eagles Defeat Rio Hondo; Win 20th Game

The MSJC women's basketball team built a big lead in the first half and cruised home with a 77-55 win over visiting Rio Hondo College on Saturday afternoon.AshleyJenkinsriohome.jpg

The win was the Lady Eagles 20th on the season and makes it six straight seasons now that MSJC has reached that mark.  Saturday Tina Fantroy led the Lady Eagles offense with 27 points, she also pulled in 7 rebounds.  Aishah Pullum and Faith Fantroy both nearly had double doubles with Pullum finishing with 8 points and 9 rebounds while F. Fantroy had 8 points and 9 assists.  Jasmine Jones also added 8 points and 5 assists in the victory.

The win improved the Lady Eagles to 20-6 overall and 7-4 in Foothill Conference action.  MSJC will travel to Rancho Cucamonga to take on Chaffey College on Wednesday in a 5 pm game.  The Lady Eagles return home for their final two regular season games on February 15th and 18th to take on Cerro Coso and Antelope Valley.
