Lady Eagles Fall at Palomar

The MSJC women's basketball team got off to a slow start on Friday night in San Marcos and could never recover as they lost to Palomar 80-68 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference game.yetta14-15.jpg

The Lady Eagles started slowly falling behind 47-31 at the half and despite a spirited effort in the second half could not overcome their deficit.  Palomar entered the game ranked #3 in Southern California while MSJC came into the game ranked #5.

Johnette Brown led the MSJC offense with 16 points while Erin Stanford and Alisia Spearman had 14 a piece.  Stanford also added 11 rebounds and Kenyetta Fugate had 7 points and 6 rebounds.

The loss dropped MSJC to 13-4 overall on the season and 1-1 in PCAC play while Palomar improved to 13-2 and 2-0.  The Lady Eagles will be back in action at home on Wednesday when they host San Diego City at 5 pm.
