MSJC Women's Basketball Player Castro-Larsen Signs Scholarship
Suzie Castro-Larsen became the second MSJC women's basketball player from the Class of 2016 to sign a scholarship today when she inked her Letter of Intent with Arizona Christian University.
Castro-Larsen played two seasons for the Lady Eagles helping the team to a combined record in that time of 54-8. Suzie played in all 62 games for MSJC in her career and this past season helped the Lady Eagles to a school record tying 30 victories and the team's third conference championship in the past four years. Castro-Larsen hit double figures in scoring six times during the 2015-16 season and recorded two double doubles. She finished her sophomore season averaging 6.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
"Suzie had a very solid career for us", said MSJC head coach Chris Mozga, "The great thing for her is she is still getting better, the next two years should be really exciting for her." "She's also a great student so I'm sure academically she will do well at Arizona Christian."
Arizona Christian is an NAIA Division I school located in Phoenix. ACU is a member of the Golden State Athletic Conference and is coming off a season where they finished 13-16. All seven of the other colleges in the GSAC are located in California.
Castro-Larsen joins teammate Sarina Johnson as the first two players from the Lady Eagles class of 2016 to sign. Johnson signed in April at Eastern New Mexico University. Castro-Larsen leaves MSJC as part of the winningest class in program history.
