MSJC Women's Hoops Wins 27th to Close Regular Season
The MSJC women's basketball team used pressure defense on Friday night to force 35 turnovers on their way to a 93-53 win on the road over San Diego City in their final regular season game of
The Lady Eagles led 25-16 after the first quarter and then pushed the lead to 49-29 by halftime. MSJC seized control of the game in the third period by out scoring the Knights 28-7 and led by as much as 46 early in the fourth on the way to the victory.
Britney Thomas led all scorers with 28 points in just 21 minutes of playing time while Delacy Brown added 18 points, 5 steals, and 3 assists in just 20 minutes of action. Raena Lasley came off the bench to score 11 for the Lady Eagles.
The win concluded the regular season for MSJC with a 27-2 record, they were co-champions of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division. San Diego City the PCAC South Champions finish their regular season at 13-13.
The CCCAA Southern California play-off pairings will be announced at noon on Monday. MSJC is hoping to host a second round game on either Friday or Saturday February 23rd or 24th.
