MSJC Women's Hoops Wins Big at Home

The MSJC women's basketball team set the school record for points scored in a game on Friday night as they defeated visiting San Bernardino Valley 128-34 in a PCAC North Division contest.CrystalMalveauxsbvc1-17.jpg

The Lady Eagles led by just 8 after the first quarter 22-14, but went on to out score the Wolverines 40-4 in the second period to grab a 62-18 halftime lead.  MSJC would continue to pull away in the second half on their way to the victory.

Delacy Brown led four Lady Eagles in double figures as she scored a game high 26 points and flirted with a triple double as she also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.  Kaila Gower came off the bench to add 21 points and 8 boards in the victory.  Randi Johnson added a double double with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Kristian Dewitt scored 17 points.  All 12 MSJC players scored in the game with Nokomis Cabrera adding a strong floor game with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.  MSJC has now scored over 100 points in six of their last eight games.

The win improved the Lady Eagles record on the season to 21-3 overall, they are 3-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North games.  MSJC will host first place Palomar (19-2, 3-0) on Friday night at 5 pm.  The Comets and Lady Eagles have split two previous meetings on the season with MSJC winning back in November while Palomar handed the Lady Eagles their only conference loss two weeks ago.  The game on the 3rd is scheduled to tip off at 5 pm.
