MSJC Women Beat Antelope; Open Play-offs at Fullerton

The MSJC women's basketball team rode a strong first half on Saturday to a 77-63 win over visiting Antelope Valley in their final regular season game.  The win secured a sixth straight play-off appearance for the Lady Eagles.ashavc.jpg

On Saturday hot shooting form Tina Fantroy and Marina Villarreal helped MSJC build a 44-24 halftime lead on their way to a victory.  Fantroy finished the game with 26 points while Villarreal had 11 off the bench all in the first half.  Faith Fantroy added 13 points and 6 assists while Ashley Jenkins scored 7 and pulled down a game high 13 rebounds.  Aishah Pullum and JoAnna Hernandez chipped in with 8 points a piece.

With the win MSJC finished the regular season with a 22-7 record, while Antelope Valley dropped to 18-11.  The Lady Eagles will open the play-offs on Saturday when they travel to Fullerton for a 7 pm game.  MSJC was awarded the #11 seed in the Southern California Regional.
