MSJC Women Beat SD City on the Road
The MSJC women's basketball team fought through a foul plagued game on Friday night to pick up a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference road win at San Diego City 86-47.
The Lady Eagles and the Knights combined to be whistled for 58 fouls and both teams shot 40 free throws a piece in a game that took some time to find any rhythm. MSJC was able to generate some offense in the final 10 minutes of the first half as they dominated the offensive glass to build a 45-25 halftime lead.
In the second half MSJC continued to pull away despite being called for 8 fouls in the first four minutes of the stanza. Four Lady Eagles reached double figures in the win led by DeShea Wilkes and Erin Stanford who both scored 12 points a piece. Sarina Johnson and Genaya Wilkinson each had 10 and Lailahni Tuaila finished the game with 9. The Lady Eagles out rebounded SD City 58-32 for the game.
The victory pushed the Lady Eagles season record to 21-4 they are 9-1 in PCAC action. The Knights fell to 10-12 overall and 6-4 in conference. MSJC will return to the floor on Wednesday night when they host Grossmont at 5 pm.
Erin Stanford scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds and 6 assists as the MSJC women's basketball team beat San Diego City 86-47 Friday night in San Diego.
