Strong Second Half Propels Lady Eagles

The MSJC women's basketball team won their fourth straight game Wednesday defeating host College of the Desert 73-39.

Brandie McCann led the Lady Eagles offense with 17 points. Danielle Smith added 14 points and 8 assists while Kyna Lewis chipped in with 11 points and 9 rebounds. With the game tied at 21-21 with 3 minutes left in the first half the Lady Eagles exploded on a 24-2 run that lasted 5 minutes into the second half to put the game out of reach. Autum Jenkins came alive in the second half scoring all 7 of her points in the second stanza and grabbing 8 of her team high 12 rebounds.

The win improved MSJC's record to 22-8 on the season and 9-4 in Foothill Conference play. The Lady Eagles host San Bernardino Valley on Saturday at 1 pm in their final regular season game.
