Women's Basketball Team Races By Desert

The MSJC women's basketball team came out of the gates quickly on Friday night and cruised past College of the Desert 115-37 in a PCAC North road game.raenaforcod2-18.jpg

The Lady Eagles opened the game by out scoring Desert 36-5 in the first quarter and built their lead to 65-20 by halftime.  MSJC shot 60% from the field in the first half and dominated the glass to build their first half lead.  The second half was much of the same as MSJC out scored the Roadrunners 50-17 in the second half, finishing the game shooting 55% from the field and out rebounding Desert 64-27.

Britney Thomas picked up yet another double double as she scored a game high 31 points and grabbed a game high 12 rebounds in just 22 minutes of action.  Raena Lasley reached double figures in scoring for the second straight game as she had a season high 17.  Lasley also dished out a game high 7 assists and pulled in 6 rebounds.  Delacy Brown added 14 points in the win and Kaila Gower came off the bench to add 12 and 7 rebounds.

The win improves MSJC to 25-2 overall on the season they are 6-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division games.  The Lady Eagles have two remaining regular season games beginning with Sophomore Night on Wednesday when they host San Bernardino Valley at 6 pm.

MSJC's Raena Lasley had 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists on Friday night to help the Lady Eagle basketball team to a 115-37 road win over College of the Desert.  MSJC will return home on Wednesday as they celebrate Sophomore Night against San Bernardino Valley at 6 pm.  (DeeAnn Bradley/MSCJ).
