Women's Basketball Team Routs Imperial

The MSJC women's basketball team cruised to a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference victory on Friday night as they defeated host Imperial Valley 94-23.

The Lady Eagles dominated the glass as they out rebounded IVC 57-10 on the night and collected a season high 34 offensive rebounds, 22 in the first half, as they built a halftime lead of 43-16.  The second half was more of the same as the Lady Eagles held Imperial to just 7 points in the final 20 minutes of the game.

13 of the 14 MSJC players that played in the game scored at least 2 points and all 14 collected at least one rebound.  Genaya Wilkinson led four Lady Eagles in double figures with 16 points, while Suzie Castro-Larsen added 15.  Andraliah Lee and Johnette Brown both had 14 points in the victory.  Brown also led MSJC on the boards with a game high 7 rebounds.

The win improved the Lady Eagles season mark to 19-4 and they are now 7-1 in PCAC play.  MSJC will take on first place Palomar (19-2, 8-0) on Wednesday night at home.  Wednesday night's game on the San Jacinto Campus will tip off at 5 pm.
