Women's Basketball Wins Big at Home
The MSJC women's basketball team picked up a PCAC cross-over win on Wednesday night as they defeated visiting San Diego City 78-36.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a first quarter lead of 19-6 and expanded that lead t 42-16 by halftime. MSJC dominated the glass in the contest as they out rebounded the Knights 71-35 and attempted 21 more field goals in the game.
Sharonda Edwards led MSJC in scoring with a game high 14 points. Haylei Janssens had 13 and 7 rebounds in the victory while Raena Lasley also reached double figures with 12 points as well as grabbing 9 rebounds. De'Adra Ross led the charge on the boards with 12 to go along with 6 points. Eleven of the 12 Lady Eagles that played in the game made it into the scoring column.
The win improves MSJC to 16-6 on the season while San Diego City fell to 8-11. The Lady Eagles will be back at home on Friday night when they host State #10 ranked Palomar at 5 pm.
