Lady Eagle Golfers Open PCAC Play by Taking Third

The MSJC women's golf team played in the first ever Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match on Wednesday and played well enough to finish in third place.AshleyCoy2015golf.jpg

The Lady Eagles along with four other schools played at Twin Oaks Country Club in the first match of the PCAC's inaugural season.  MSJC and many fellow members of the PCAC had played in the Orange Empire Conference the past couple of years and in the Foothill Conference prior to that. 

Ashley Coy carded a 90 on the day as she led the Lady Eagles to a team mark of 388.  Brianna Paquet turned in a 96 while Taylor Brown shot 98.  Amber Thornburg fired a 104 to round out the team scoring for the Lady Eagles.  Mary Money and Illianah Laguna also took to the course for MSJC and shot 110 and 119, the top four scores from each team are recorded to get the team scores for each event. 

Cuyamaca won the match with a team score of 330 on the day led by the event's medalist Jule Loibl who shot 78.  College of the Desert was second at 362 with MSJC third, San Bernardino-Crafton Hills fourth, and Palomar finished fifth.

MSJC will return to action on Monday when they travel to Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert for PCAC match #2.
