MSJC Golfers Fire 319; Tie School Record
The MSJC women's golf team tied the school record of 319 on Wednesday, but it wasn't quite enough as they fell into second place in the conference standings after Foothill Conference Match #6 at Twin Oaks Golf Course.
Palomar College shot a 313 to take over the lead in the conference race at 13-2 while the Lady Eagles are a one back at 12-3. MSJC's 319 easily out distanced third place Mt. San Antonio (365) and fourth place College of the Desert (366).
Wan Ling (Iris) Chung returned to action and once again led the Lady Eagles with a 78 just four shots off the low score of the day. Dayna Doidge was 7th out of the 22 player field with a 79. Alice Hiluta carded an 80 and Cheyenne Ackerman shot an 82 to round out the MSJC team scoring for the day. Valerie Zulueta posted an 83 and Vivian Shoemaker came back from a rocky start to shoot an 88 for MSJC.
The Lady Eagles will return to action on Wednesday October 10th when they play once again at Twin Oaks.
