MSJC Women Golfers Start Season With Solid Showing

The MSJC women's golf team opened their 2013 season with a 6th place finish at the Desert Classic held over the weekend in Palm Springs.alicefmatch7.jpg

The Lady Eagles got a strong showing from two of their returning players as Alice Hiluta had a two day total of 144 and Iris Chung finished the two day event at 145.  Hiluta had the team's low round of the tournament shooting a 69 in day two of the competition.  Chung also improved on day two carding a 70, both Hiluta and Chung shot 75s in the opening round.

The third returning player for MSJC Cheyenne Ackerman was also consistent on the weekend shooting a pair of 81s.  Kaylee Brackenbury rounded out the Lady Eagles line-up and in her debut for MSJC shot a 111 and 105.  The tournament was played in extreme heat and humidity at Indian Canyon South.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday September 4th when they return to the desert to play at Santa Rosa Country Club.
