Second Straight 323 Moves Lady Golfers to 7-5

The Lady Eagles (7-5) maintained consistency as a team and second place in the Foothmelissagolfroster.jpgill Conference while continuing to improve as individuals equaling their score from Monday with another 323 (sub 81 average) for second place, behind Palomar College (295), but ahead of Mt. San Antonio College (331), and College Of The Desert (348), on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.
Sophomore Co-Captain and International Student Ya-Ting (Tina) Yang, blazed through the 5,584 yard El Prado Golf Course – Chino Creek with a 1 under par 71 (35-36) to lead Mt. San Jacinto College and finished second to Palomar College Comet Taylor Crandall (69).  Yang’s round consisted of 5 birdies, 9 pars, and 4 bogeys.
Freshman Valerie Zulueta (Paloma Valley HS) fired her best round of the season with a 79 (39-40) in the sunny, humid, breezy, mid-90 degree temperature conditions.  Zulueta’s round included 1 birdie, 11 pars, 5 bogeys, and 1 double bogey placing her 9th in the 24 women field.
Sophomore Co-Captain Melissa Simpson carded her best round as a Lady Eagle with an 80 (40-40) in Foothill Conference #4 hosted by Mt. San Antonio College.  Simpson’s round encompassed 1 birdie, 12 pars, 3 bogeys, 1 double bogey, and 1 triple bogey and placed her 10th.
Freshman Vivian Shoemaker (San Jacinto HS) fell back 9 strokes from her performance on Monday with a 93 (47-46) and finished in 18th place.  Shoemaker’s round encompassed 3 pars, 10 bogeys, and 5 double bogeys.
Freshman Dominique Lombardi (Beaumont HS) posted her best round of the season with a 98 (50-48) and finished in 20th place.  Lombardi's round included 4 pars, 5 bogeys, and 7 double bogeys.
Freshman Alexis Moss (Beaver HS - Utah) took 4 more strokes than Monday and shot 102 to finish 22nd. 
Mt. San Jacinto College has some time off before teeing it up again in Foothill Conference #5 hosted by Palomar College, at Escondido Country Club, on Monday, October 10, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.
Melissa Simpson shot a career best 80 Wednesday to help MSJC to a second place finish in Foothill Conference Match #4 in Chino.
