Women's Golf Team Shoots 375 in Opening Match
The MSJC women's golf team began their 2015 season on Wednesday hosting the first Orange Empire Conference match of the year by shooting a team total of 375 at Soboba Springs Country Club.
The Lady Eagles were led by the Jane Lee who shot a team best 86 on the day, which was tied for the 8th best score in the event. Amanda Arnold fired a 91 for MSJC and Sara Burg carded a 98 helping the Lady Eagles to a 375 which was 6th best out of the nine teams competing on Wednesday. Taylor Brown shot a 100, Ashley Coy turned in a 102, and Kaylee Brackenbury rounded out the scoring for MSJC with a 106. Yi Chen Tsai of College of the Desert turned in the best round of the day with a 77. She helped Desert to a team total of 331 for a first place finish. Irvine Valley was second with a 351 followed by Palomar at 354, Mt. SAC at 358, Orange Coast at 368, and then MSJC with their 375. Saddleback posted a 379 for 7th place while Fullerton had a 456 to finish 8th, Cuyumaca did not have a qualifying team score with only three players competing.
MSJC will be right back in action this weekend when they take part in the Desert Classic Friday and Saturday at Indian Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs.
