Lady Eagle Soccer Team Earns 3rd Straight Shut Out
The MSJC women's soccer team kept their winning streak alive as they defeated visiting Mira Costa College on Friday in Menifee 1-0, to stay unbeaten in conference play.
The Lady Eagles, who have now won six matches in a row, needed a late goal on Friday to earn the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division victory. Hanna Kanagawa scored off an assist from Patricia Roach in the 76th minute to break the scoreless tie. The Lady Eagles who controlled much of the contest held Mira Costa scoreless earning their third straight shut out and fifth shut out of the year. Riley Ludwig made 8 saves in goal for the Lady Eagles in the victory.
The win pushed MSJC's overall record to 7-1 on the season and they improved to 2-0 in PCAC North play. Mira Costa fell to 2-5-1 overall and 1-2 in conference action. The Lady Eagles next match will be a showdown on Tuesday with two time defending conference champion San Diego Miramar. Miramar enters Tuesday's match with an overall record of 6-1-2 and are currently 2-0-1 in PCAC North contests.
