Lady Eagle Soccer Team Falls on the Road
The MSJC women's soccer team scored the first goal of the match on Tuesday night, but could not hold the lead as they fell on the road at LA Pierce 5-1 in a non-conference match.
The Lady Eagles took the lead in the 12th minute when Ajahni McClendon scored off an assist from Gloria Martinez. The Brahmas would respond with goals in the 16th, 31st, and 40th minute to take a lead of 3-1 into halftime. Pierce took full control of the contest with a goal early in the second half as they scored in the 48th minute to push the margin to 4-1 and then added one more in the 66th minute to make the final 5-1. MSJC Goal Keeper Sarah Sawyer was credited with 7 saves in the loss.
MSJC started the season last week with a tough loss at home to Saddleback 4-0. The Lady Eagles return to action on Friday afternoon when they host Citrus College on the Menifee Campus. Kick off for Friday's match is set for 3 pm.
