Lady Eagle Soccer Team Improves to 4-1
The MSJC soccer team started fast on Friday scoring their opening goal just 7 minutes into the match as they defeated Pasadena City College 3-1 in a non conference contest at Menifee.
Ryane McDevitt got things started for the Lady Eagles as she scored on an assist from Ashley Ganley in the 7th minute to give MSJC a 1-0 lead. Hanna Kanagawa would push the Lady Eagles lead to 2-0 just before halftime when she scored on an assist from Perla Teran in the 44th minute. Pasadena scored their lone goal of the match in the 52nd minute to cut the lead to 2-1, but the Lady Eagles responded by scoring just two minutes later when Kanagawa scored her second goal of the day unassisted to push the lead back to 3-1. Rebecca Ashmore played the first half in goal for MSJC making 4 saves, while Riley Ludwig handled the goal keeping duties in the second and gave up one goal while making 4 saves of her own.
The win improved the Lady Eagles to 4-1 on the season while Pasadena fell to 1-3. MSJC will be back in action on Tuesday when they host El Camino in a 3 pm match on the Menifee Campus.
