Lady Eagle Soccer Team Shut Out at El Camino

The MSJC women's soccer team had a hard time finding any offense on Tuesday as they fell in a non-conference match at El Camino 4-0.laurenperez-16.jpg

The Lady Eagles and the Warriors both showed strong defensive skills through the first half, before El Camino finally broke through with the match's first goal in the 37th minute.  The score would remain 1-0 in El Camino's favor at the half.  Two quick goals to start the second half for the Warriors put the match out of reach as they scored in the 49th and 50th minute to make the score 3-0.  El Camino would go on to tack on one final goal in the 74th minute, all three Warrior goals in the second half were scored by Kalyn Kaemerie.

Elizabeth Barackman and April Sawyer both saw action in goal for the Lady Eagles with Sawyer making 2 saves.  Freshman defender Lauren Perez had a stand out individual effort in the loss.

With the loss the Lady Eagles fall to 2-2 on the season while El Camino improved to 4-0-2.  MSJC will begin their defense of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division title they won in 2015 on Tuesday September 20th when they open conference play against San Diego Miramar.  Next Tuesday's match in Menifee will kick off at 3:15 PM.

Lauren Perez had a strong effort on defense Tuesday for the MSJC soccer team, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Eagles lost at El Camino 4-0.  MSJC will be back in action next Tuesday September 20th when they open PCAC North Division play against San Diego Miramar.
