Lady Eagle Soccer Team Shuts Out SD City
The MSJC soccer team scored a goal in the first minute on Friday and never looked back on their way to a 4-0 win over visiting San Diego City College.
Patricia Roach got the Lady Eagles off to a fast start with an assist from Ryane McDevitt as MSJC jumped ahead 1-0. Ivanna Hernandez would add MSJC's second goal of the day in the 27th minute when she scored with an assist from Stephania Navarrete. McDevitt would push the Lady Eagles lead to 3-0 before halftime when she picked up a goal in the 41st minute, this time with Kerah Hilkey getting the assist. Aida Sandoval would score the lone goal of the second half when she netted one in the 55th minute, Gabriella Chaname was credited with an assist.
Riley Ludwig started in goal for MSJC and had 5 saves as she played the first 60 minutes of the contest. Rebecca Ashmore played the final 30 minutes for the Lady Eagles. The win improves MSJC's record on the year to 12-2, while San Diego City fell to 1-15 on the year. The Lady Eagles will host San Diego Mesa on Tuesday at 3 pm on the Menifee Campus.
