Lady Eagle Soccer Team Wins Second in a Row
The MSJC women's soccer team went on the road to College of the Desert on Friday and came away with their second straight victory as they defeated the Roadrunners 2-1.
The Lady Eagles and the Roadrunners played a scoreless first half before Tiana Torres got the offense going for MSJC with a goal in the 50th minute off an assist from Morgan Schaaf. COD would tie the match 15 minutes later when Maira Fuentes scored in the 65th minute with help from Melita Pena. MSJC was able to push across the winning goal in the 72nd minute when Schaaf scored on an assist from Andrea Perez.
The win improved the Lady Eagles record on the season to 3-4-1 overall they are 2-1-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play. COD fell to 1-8 on the year and 0-4 in the conference. MSJC returns to action on Tuesday when they host Mira Costa College at the Menifee Campus. Tuesday's match will begin at 3:15.
