Lady Eagles Soccer Shuts Out Long Beach

The MSJC women's soccer team used a strong defensive effort to earn their second shut out victory of the season as they won at Long Beach City College 1-0 on Friday in a non conference match.

The Lady Eagles and the Lady Vikings battled through a physical first half with neither team able to score in the first 45 minutes.  MSJC would break the scoreless tie just three minutes into the second half when Breanna Jeffers scored the match's lone goal on an assist from Ashley Ganley.  The Lady Eagles defense took over the rest of the way to secure the 1-0 victory.  MSJC out shot Long Beach on the day 9-6.  Goal Keeper Riley Ludwig earned the shut out for the Lady Eagles with 2 saves.

The win improved MSJC's season record to 2-1.  The Lady Eagles will play two home matches this week on the Menifee Campus starting with tomorrow's match against Victor Valley.  Friday MSJC will host Pasadena City College.  Both matches this week on the Menifee Campus are set to kick off at 4 pm.
