Late Goals Lead MSJC Soccer to Victory

The MSJC women's soccer team scored two goals in the second half on Tuesday as they won a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference cross-over match 2-0 over San Diego City at home.LeslieCabralHeaderforSDCity-17.jpg

The Lady Eagles and the Knights battled through a scoreless first half, before MSJC finally scored the first goal of the match in the 91st minute when Leslie Cabral scored unassisted.  The Lady Eagles then added an insurance goal almost as time ran out when Ariana Serrato scored in the 95th minute.  April Sawyer picked up the shut out victory in goal for MSJC as she mad three saves during the match.

The win evened the Lady Eagles record on the season at 5-5-1 while San Diego City fell to 5-6-2.  MSJC, who is 3-1-1 in PCAC North matches, will continue their cross-over schedule against teams from the PCAC-South on Friday when they travel to Southwestern College.  Friday's match in Chula Vista will begin at 1 pm.

MSJC's #3 Leslie Cabral and her teammates picked up a victory on Tuesday as they beat visiting San Diego City 2-0 in a match played in Menifee.  Cabral had one of the Lady Eagles two second half goals.  (DeeAnn Bradley/MSJC).
