Ludwig, Garcia Headline Play-Off Bound Soccer Team's All Conference Picks

The MSJC women's soccer team, who finished the regular season 16-3 and won the PCAC North championship, had 10 players honored as All Conference selections when the team was rileyludwig2015.jpg
announced on Monday.

Leading the MSJC selections were PCAC Defensive Player of the Year Valeria Garcia and co-Goal Keeper of the Year Riley Ludwig (FR., Big Bear HS).  Ludwig had 92 saves on the season, and played in all 19 of the Lady Eagles matches allowing an average of just 0.41 goals per game.  Garcia, a sophomore from Yucaipa, led the MSJC defense to 13 shut outs on the season including winning 7 of their last 8 contests by shut out.  Fourth year head coach Chauncey Hayes earned PCAC North Coach of the Year honors for his team's play this season.  Hayes led MSJC to just the second soccer conference title in school history this year and has guided the Lady Eagles to three straight CCCAA Regional play-off appearances.

valeriagarcia2015.jpgJoining Garcia as First Team All PCAC North picks were: Ryane McDevitt (SO., Redlands East Valley), Gabby Chaname (SO., Valley View), Kaylee Wolever (SO., Hemet), Patricia Roach (SO., San Jacinto), Julianna Christensen (SO., Redlands East Valley), and Ashley Ganley (FR., Murrieta Valley).  McDevitt led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 10 goals, she also had 4 assists on the year.  Roach scored 7 goals in the 2015 regular season and had 6 assists.  These first team selections were joined by Honorable Mention choices McKayla Collins (FR., Murrieta Mesa) and Stefania Navarrete (FR., Elsinore).

Garcia and Ganley were both also All Southern California Region nominees.

The Lady Eagles will be searching for their first post season win when they open the 2015 CCCAA Southern California Regional Tournament on Saturday at Cerritos.  Saturday's match in Cerritos is set to kick off at 2 pm.
