MSJC Soccer Blanks Grossmont
The MSJC women's soccer team got right back to their winning ways on Friday afternoon as they defeated Grossmont 2-0 in a match played in El Cajon.
The Lady Eagles started fast when Hanna Kanagawa scored in the 6th minute off an assist from McKayla Collins. Stefania Navarrete added MSJC's second goal early in the second half with an assist from Patricia Roach to push the lead to 2-0. Riley Ludwig played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Eagles making 5 saves on her way to a shut out. The shut out for MSJC was their 6th of the season.
The Lady Eagle victory improves their overall season record to 8-2 and they improved to 3-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play. Grossmont fell to 4-5-1 overall and 1-4 in PCAC North action. MSJC will be at home twice this week when they host a pair of PCAC South opponents. Tuesday the Lady Eagles will take on Southwestern and Friday MSJC hosts Imperial Valley. Both matches on the Menifee Campus this week will kick off at 3:15.
