MSJC Soccer Earns 10th Shut Out of the Year
The MSJC women's soccer team earned their 10th shut out of the year on Tuesday as they blanked Palomar 4-0 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division match.
The Lady Eagles took the lead in the 13th minute when Ryane McDevitt scored a goal off an assist from Valeria Garcia. Patricia Roach would push the MSJC lead to 2-0 in the 34th minute with an assist from Ashley Ganley and then just three minutes later Stefania Navarrete extended it to 3-0 scoring with a helper from Gabby Chaname. Roach added her second goal of the day in the second half at the 49 minute mark with an assist from Navarrete to make it 4-0.
Rebecca Ashmore played the first half in goal for the Lady Eagles making 3 saves, and Riley Ludwig played the second 45 minutes earning 4 saves to preserve the shut out.
The win improved the Lady Eagles overall record to 13-3 they are 4-1 in PCAC North action, while Palomar fell to 7-9-2 overall and 1-4-1 in conference play. Currently MSJC is just a half game out of first place in the conference standings with three matches left on their schedule. The Lady Eagles will travel to Mira Costa on Friday for a 3pm match, before returning home next Tuesday November 10th when they host first place San Diego Miramar on the Menifee Campus.
