MSJC Soccer Earns Tie at Mesa

The MSJC women's soccer team scored early, but could not net another goal in the match as they tied San Diego Mesa College Tuesday night in San Diego 1-1.MSJCsocAlcantarPushBy.jpg

The Lady Eagles came out fast as Dimitra Tsambasis scored on an assist from Savannah Alcantar in the just the 6th minute of the game giving MSJC an early 1-0 lead.  Both teams had a couple chances later in the half, but neither team would score and the Lady Eagles took a one goal lead into the locker room.

Mesa finally broke through with the tying goal in the 70th minute, and neither side would score again.  Marilla Dos Santos played another strong game in goal for the Lady Eagles as she played all 90 minutes allowing just one goal and making 9 saves.

With the draw MSJC now stands at 5-1-2 on the year while Mesa is now 1-3-3.  The Lady Eagles will be at home on Friday October 3rd when they host Southwestern College in a 3:15 match.  All MSJC soccer home games are played on the Menifee Campus.
