MSJC Soccer Loses Tight One in First Place Showdown
The MSJC women's soccer team lost 1-0 on Tuesday at San Diego Miramar in a battle of two teams that were tied for first place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division.
The Lady Eagles and the Jets battled through a physical first half and went to the locker room tied at 0-0. In the 73rd minute Miramar scored the lone goal of the match when Karolina Salazar scored on an assist from Hayden Kelley.
Amber Roberts played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Eagles and had 8 saves in the tough luck loss. The loss for MSJC was their first since September 26th and just their second of the season. The Lady Eagles now stand at 12-2-3 on the year and 4-1-1 in conference play while the Jets improved to 12-2-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the league play.
MSJC has three matches left in the regular season. Friday the Lady Eagles host Grossmont on the Menifee Campus at 3 pm and MSJC will play their final regular season home match on Tuesday November 11th when they host San Diego City. The match on the 11th is also set to kick off at 3 pm.
Savana Alcantar and her MSJC teammates lost a close match on Tuesday at San Diego Miramar 1-0. The Lady Eagles fell one game out of first place with the loss, it was just the team's second loss of the season as they are currently 12-2-3 on the year. (photo DeeAnn Bradley/MSJC)
