MSJC Soccer Makes it Two in a Row

The MSJC soccer team controlled the action most of the match on Friday at El Camino, but couldn't break through until late in their 2-0 non conference victory.patriciaroach2014.jpg

The Lady Eagles put 15 shots on goal compared to just three from El Camino, but couldn't get one into the net until the 73rd minute when Patricia Roach scored the match's first goal on an assist from Azalea Sanchez.  MSJC would push the lead to 2-0 just 10 minutes later when Dimitra Tsambasis scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Valeria Garcia.

Marilla Dos Santos played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Eagles making three saves and giving MSJC their second straight shut out to start the season.  In a physical game 17 fouls were called, but no cards were given out to either team.

The win gets MSJC to 2-0-0 on the season while El Camino fell to 1-2-0.  The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday September 9th when the travel to Irvine Valley for a 3 pm match.

 

Patricia Roach scored a goal in the 73rd minute on Friday to get the scoring started for the MSJC soccer team as they improved to 2-0 on the season with a 2-0 win at El Camino College.
