MSJC Soccer Overwhelms COD in Second Half
The MSJC women's soccer team broke open a scoreless match at halftime on Tuesday to defeat visiting College of the Desert 4-0 in a PCAC North contest in Menifee.
The Lady Eagles defense kept the Roadrunners off the scoreboard as they recorded their second straight shut out. The offense came to life early in the second half as MSJC scored all four of their goals in the opening 12 minutes. Savanna Alcantar, McKayla Collins, Stefania Navarrete, and Hanna Kanagawa each had a goal in the victory. Morgan Schaaf had her second straight match with two assists. Perla Teran and Navarrete also had an assist a piece. Goal Keeper Riley Ludwig made five saves on her way to the shut out.
The win for the Lady Eagles was their second in a row and improved their record on the season to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division standings. Desert fell to 2-5-1 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
MSJC will travel to Mira Costa on Friday for a 4 PM match.
