MSJC Soccer Team's Season Ends in Play-offs
The MSJC women's soccer team fell in the first round of the Southern California Regional Tournament on Thursday, losing to Santa Barbara City College 2-0.
SBCC was able to score a goal in each half on their way to the victory. The Lady Eagles had some chances, but were unable to score a goal in the hard fought loss. Melissa Lopez finished her stand out season with solid play in the goal once again allowing just two goals and making 8 saves.
The Lady Eagles finished the season with a record of 12-7-2. The play-off appearance for MSJC was just the second in school history and the first since 1998. The Lady Eagles also were very successful in their first year of competition in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division where they finished second.
Head Coach Chauncey Hayes and the MSJC women's soccer team made the play-offs for just the second time in school history this season. The magical season came to an end yesterday with a 2-0 loss to Santa Barbara City College in the First Round of the So. Cal Regionals.
