MSJC Soccer Wins With Another Shut Out
The MSJC women's soccer team stayed unbeaten on the season and played great defense once again as they defeated visiting Long Beach City College 2-0 on Friday in Menifee.
In what was an evenly played first half both teams could not score in the first half. Amber Roberts who played the first half in goal for the Lady Eagles had 6 first half saves. In the second half MSJC broke through in the 56th minute when Savanna Alcantar scored a goal off an assist from Demitra Tsambasis. The Lady Eagles would add another goal 9 minutes later when Destinee Jeannette scored again off a Tsambasis assist to push the lead to 2-0 at the 65 minute mark.
MSJC's defense would remain dominate as Marilla Dos Santos played the second 45 minutes in goal and recorded 9 saves. The Lady Eagles now have four shut outs in their first five matches of the season.
The win pushed MSJC's record to 4-0-1 on the season while Long Beach City fell to 1-2-3. The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Mt. San Antonio College in a 4 pm match on the Menifee Campus.
