MSJC Soccer Wins With Shut Out
The MSJC women's soccer team picked up a big road win on Tuesday when they defeated Palomar 1-0 in San Marcos.
The defensive battle between the two teams went down to the final five minutes, before the Lady Eagles were able to score the lone goal of the day. In the 87th minute Ajahni McClendon was able to knock one into the net off an assist from Heather Furuya to give MSJC the victory. Sarah Sawyer picked up the shut out in goal for the Lady Eagles as she played all 90 minutes and made four saves.
The road win was a big one for MSJC and gave them sole possession of second place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference's North Division. The Lady Eagles are now 2-1-1 in conference play and 2-4-2 overall. Palomar remained winless on the year at 0-4 in the PCAC North and 0-8-1 overall.
MSJC returns home to Menifee on Friday when they take on College of the Desert to wrap up the first time through the PCAC North schedule. Desert is currently right behind the Lady Eagles in the league standings along with Mira Costa at 2-2. Friday's home match is set to kick off at 3 pm.
