MSJC Soccer Wins to Stay Unbeaten in Conference

The MSJC women's soccer team continued to roll on Tuesday as the Lady Eagles, ranked 8th in Southern California, defeated Grossmont 3-1 in El Cajon.destineejeannette2014.jpg

The Lady Eagles got the scoring started in the 35th minute when Destinee Jeannette scored an unassisted goal.  MSJC would add to their lead just three minutes later when Ryane McDevitt scored on an assist from Dimitra Tsambasis to give the Lady Eagles a 2-0 halftime lead.  Alexa Parker pushed the lead to 3-0 in the 53rd minute when she scored unassisted.  Grossmont's lone goal of the match came in the 78th minute on a penalty kick.  Amber Roberts, returned from her injury to play all 90 minutes in goal and had 4 saves.

The win boosted MSJC to 11-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play while Grossmont fell to 2-11-2 and 0-5.  The Lady Eagles are currently in a virtual tie for first place with San Diego Miramar who has a record of 5-0-1 in the North Division.  MSJC returns to action with a road match on Friday at Palomar and then will face off with Miramar next Tuesday.  Friday's match at Palomar is set to kick off at 3 pm.

 

Destinee Jeannette scored one of MSJC's three goals on Tuesday as the Lady Eagles defeated Grossmont 3-1 in a PCAC North Division match.  MSJC is 3-0-1 in North Division play and 11-1-3 overall on the season.
