Miramar Ends MSJC Soccer Win Streak

The MSJC women's soccer team lost for the first time in seven matches on Tuesday as they fell at San Diego Miramar 2-0.rileyludwigformiramar.jpg

The Lady Eagles had won six straight and had not allowed a goal in their past three contests before Tuesday.  The Lady Eagles defense was strong again as it took the Jets 80 minutes to score the match's first goal.  Miramar would add a second goal just 2 minutes later to put the contest out of reach.  MSJC goal keepers Riley Ludwig and Rebecca Ashmore each gave up one goal a piece.  Ludwig, who played the majority of the match, did make 8 saves.

The loss drops MSJC to 7-2 overall on the season and 2-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play, while Miramar took over first place in the PCAC North improving to 7-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.  The Lady Eagles will be right back in action on Friday as they travel to El Cajon to take on Grossmont College in another PCAC North match up.  Friday's match at Grossmont is set to kick off at 1 pm.

The Lady Eagles return home next Tuesday October 13th when they will host Southwestern College on the Menifee Campus starting at 3:15 pm.
