Sandoval Signs Soccer Scholarship
The second MSJC women's soccer player from the class of 2017 to sign an athletic scholarship is Aida Sandoval.
Sandoval signed a scholarship to continue her academic and soccer career this week at McPherson College in Kansas. McPherson is an NAIA school located in McPherson, Kansas and is a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). The team is coming off a season in which they finished 10-6-1 overall and finished tied for fifth in the conference standings.
Sandoval helped MSJC to an impressive two year run as she ended her Lady Eagle career with her team posting an overall record of 29-11-2. During her freshman season Sandoval, a graduate of Hemet Tahquitz High School, was part of just the second conference title for women's soccer in MSJC history. During that freshman season the Lady Eagles finished the year with an impressive 16-4 record. The season ended with a first round loss in the play-offs.
This past season the Lady Eagles once again reached the post season and this time MSJC picked up their first ever play-off win in women's soccer as they defeated Bakersfield College. MSJC wrapped up Sandoval's sophomore season with a loss in the second round.
Sandoval joins teammate Riley Ludwig as the first two Lady Eagle soccer players to sign scholarships for the upcoming season. Ludwig signed last month with William Penn University in Iowa.
