Soccer Player McDevitt Commits to Lincoln Memorial
Ryane McDevitt became the first MSJC women's soccer player of 2015 to make her four year college choice last week when she committed to Lincoln Memorial University.
LMU is located in Harrogate, Tennessee and is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the South Atlantic Conference. McDevitt was the Lady Eagles leading goal scorer this past season as she netted 10 goals on the year. She also added four assists on her way to being named First Team All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. McDevitt helped her team to a PCAC North Division Championship and their third straight appearance in the CCCAA State play-offs. MSJC posted a record of 16-4 this Fall. McDevitt's best game came on October 13th when she scored three goals leading MSJC to a 5-2 win over Southwestern. During her freshman season McDevitt scored 5 goals and had an assist as she helped MSJC to an overall record of 15-3-3.
McDevitt is planning on majoring in Nursing when she gets to LMU. "She got a very good offer and they have a very
recognized nursing program so I think its a great fit," said Head MSJC soccer coach Chauncey Hayes.
Several other MSJC sophomores are expected to make their four year college choices after the Holidays.
