Soccer Team Bounces Back to Shut Out Palomar

The MSJC women's soccer team bounced back from their conference opening loss to Miramar on Tuesday by shutting out Palomar to win 3-0 in San Marcos on Friday.mcKaylaCollinsforPalomar1-16.jpg

The Lady Eagles and the Comets fought to a scoreless tie at halftime, before three second half goals by MSJC gave them the victory.  Savanna Alcantar. McKayla Collins, and Stefania Navarrete each scored for the Lady Eagles in the second 45 minutes.  Navarrete also added an assist in the victory as did Nicole Young.  Morgan Schaaf picked up a pair of assists.  Goal Keepers April Sawyer and Elizabeth Barackman split time in goal and both each had a two saves.

The win evened the Lady Eagles overall record on the season at 3-3, they improved to 1-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play.  Palomar dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

MSJC returns to action Tuesday when they host College of the Desert on the Menifee Campus at 3:15 PM.
