Soccer Team Earns Shut Out on Sophomore Day
The MSJC women's soccer team completed an unbeaten home schedule on Tuesday afternoon as they beat visiting San Diego City College 3-0 in Menifee.
The Lady Eagles got the only goal of the first half early when Dimitra Tsambasis scored on an assist from Kellie Drew in the 7th minute. MSJC pushed the lead to 2-0 when Tsambasis again scored in the 66th minute, this time on an assist from Ryane McDevitt. McDevitt finished off the scoring with a goal of her own in the 84th minute when Drew picked up her second assist of the afternoon. Amber Roberts played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Eagles earning the shut out with 5 saves.
The win gave MSJC a 9-0-1 record this season in home matches and they are now 14-2-3 overall. San Diego City, a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference South Division, fell to 7-11-2 overall. The Lady Eagles will play their final regular season match on Friday when they travel to Mira Costa. Start time on Friday is set for 3 pm.
