Soccer Team Hands Long Beach First Loss of the Season

The MSJC women's soccer team out scored Long Beach City 3-1 in the second half on Friday as they defeated the visiting Vikings 4-2 in a non-conference match played in Menifee.savannahalcantara-16.jpg

The Lady Eagles and Vikings were tied at 1-1 after the first 45 minutes, before MSJC reeled off three straight goals in the second half.  Savanna Alcantar led the offense for the Lady Eagles with two goals on the afternoon.  Morgan Schaaf and Destiny Blythe had a goal a piece for MSJC.  McKayla Collins, Stefania Navarrete, and Kerah Hilkey all had assists in the victory.  Elizabeth Barackman picked up 6 saves in goal.

The win improved the Lady Eagles record to 2-1 on the season while Long Beach City lost for the first time in 2016 falling to 4-1.  MSJC returns to action on Tuesday September 13th when they travel to El Camino.  Kick off is set for 2 pm Tuesday in El Camino.



Savanna Alcantar had two goals on Friday to help the MSJC soccer team to a 4-2 win over visiting Long Beach City College in a non-conference match played in Menifee.
