The MSJC women's soccer team continued their strong season on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated visiting Palomar College 4-1 in Menifee.
The Lady Eagles first goal of the match came in the 30th minute when Olivia Hernandez scored on an assist from Destinee Jeanette. Just two minutes later Dimitra Tsambasis added another score when she found the net off a pass from Kim Mata to give the Lady Eagles a 2-1 lead at the half.
MSJC came out quickly in the second half to push the lead to 3-1 just one minute in as Savanna Alcantar scored in the 46th minute on an assist from Azalea Sanchez. The Lady Eagles continued the fast start to half number two when Hernandez scored her second goal of the day in the 49th minute with an assist from Tsambasis. MSJC's 4-1 lead was too much to overcome for the Comets as neither team would score again.
Cassidy Constantino, starting her second straight game in goal for MSJC, had 9 saves in the victory while allowing just the one goal.
The victory pushed the Lady Eagles overall record to 10-1-3 while their Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division mark improved to 2-0-1. Palomar fell to 6-6-2 overall and 1-4 in the PCAC North. MSJC returns to action next Tuesday October 28th when they travel to Grossmont.
