Soccer Team Picks up Shut Out Victory
The MSJC women's soccer team picked up a shut out victory at home on the Menifee Campus Tuesday as they blanked San Diego Miramar 2-0.
The Lady Eagles took the lead midway through the first half on a goal by Heather Furuya, she was assisted by Gloria Martinez. MSJC would add the knock out punch in the second half when Emily Guzman scored off an assist from Vanessa Gutierrez. Sarah Sawyer played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Eagles making 5 saves to preserve the victory.
The win improved the Lady Eagles overall season record to 8-8-1 while they are now 4-2-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division contests. Miramar fell to 5-12-1 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play.
MSJC will be on the road Friday when they travel to San Marcos to take on Palomar in a 3 pm match. The Lady Eagles will play their final regular season home match next Tuesday when they host College of the Desert. Next Tuesday's match is also set to kick off at 3.
