Soccer Team Rallies to Beat Mt. SAC
The MSJC women's soccer team used three late goals on Tuesday afternoon to stay unbeaten on the season, winning 3-2 against Mt. San Antonio in Menifee.
The Lady Eagles and the Mounties battled through a physical first half with Mt. SAC taking the halftime lead 1-0 on a goal in the 40th minute. Mt. SAC would push their lead to 2-0 just two minutes into the second half and would hold that lead for the next 26 minutes.
MSJC rallied late cutting the lead to 2-1 in the 73rd minute when Kim Mata scored on an assist from Dimitra Tsambasis on a break away. In the 87th minute the Lady Eagles tied up the score this time on a goal from Olivia Hernandez once again Tsambasis was credited with an assist. Tsambasis then scored the game winning goal in the 90th minute on a header with a corner assist from Trisha Roach.
The comeback victory kept MSJC unbeaten on the year as they improved to 5-0-1. The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Pasadena for a 6 pm contest.
