Soccer Team Scores Five Times to Beat Victor Valley
The MSJC women's soccer team used an explosive offense on Tuesday to pick up a 5-1 win over visiting Victor Valley College in a non conference match played in Menifee.
The Lady Eagles scored the first goal of the match just 12 minutes in when Melody Gonzalas scored. Victor Valley was able to tie the game in the 30th minute, but Ryane McDevitt put MSJC back on top just before the half with her goal in the 38th minute. MSJC took over in the second half as Goal Keeper Riley Ludwig and the Lady Eagle defense didn't allow the Rams to score again. MSJC went up 3-1 on Gonzalas' second goal of the match in the 54th minute. Jaquelin Albin added a Lady Eagle goal in the 74th minute and Stefania Navarrete put the finishing touches on the 5-1 victory with a goal in the 85th minute to round out the scoring.
Patricia Roach, Ashley Ganley, Hanna Kanagawa, and Navarrete all each had an assist in the win. Ludwig finished the day with 8 saves playing all 90 minutes in goal for MSJC.
The win improved the Lady Eagles record to 3-1 on the season while Victor Valley fell to 5-2. MSJC will be back in action on Friday when they host Pasadena City College at 4pm on the Menifee Campus.
